This is underpinned by the following beliefs:

  • Children have the right to feel and be safe.
  • Children have the right to be listened to

  • Children have the right to be loved.
  • Children must be valued and respected, with dignity and humility.

  • Develop a play-based program that provides opportunities for students to inquire about their world through discover, creating, imaging, and improvising.
  • Engage with ongoing professional learning to deepen existing understanding skills and knowledge.
  • Continually monitoring, reflecting on practices to ensure the best outcomes for all.
  •  Ensuring the framework for review reflects on current practice and measures learning outcomes.

Behaviour Management

The service provides a safe and caring environment for children of all ages and uses the “Bump it Up” wall to help with any behaviour issues the children are experiencing, together with reflective practices. The service also promotes the zones of regulation. In the event of more serious behaviour issues, the service together with leadership of the school conduct a restorative conversation. Children and educators also collaborate in the development of responsibilities and rules for behaviour. The responsibilities are clearly displayed each term, and they help promote responsibilities for children’s understanding regarding behaviour.

Programming

The OSHC and Vacation Care services provide quality programs which are inspired by our students and are planned utilising the My Time Our Place V2 framework to meet the 5 outcomes. We provide a variety of art and craft activities which is stimulating and fun. Outdoor play is always encouraged which is inclusive of sporting and playground activities.

We have a homework club whereby children are encouraged to complete prior to engaging in any other activities. There is a copy of the full program including the menu on display in the OSHC room and sent to families each week.
