St Joseph's Hindmarsh OSHC

Our aim at St. Joseph’s OSHC is to provide a safe and caring environment for your child. It is important that you as parents and caregivers know that you are receiving the best possible care and education.

We believe that building a partnership together relies on:

  • Being welcomed and acknowledged by all OSHC staff upon entering and exiting our service.
  • Knowing that your child develops a sense of belonging.
  • Ensure that you continually receive information as to what is happening and that your response is welcomed.
  • Knowing that you are involved in decision making regarding your child’s care, education, and experiences.
  • Knowing that your child is settled, happy and engaged.
  • Knowing that your child is receiving the best care while attending the service.

Welcome Message

Welcome to the St. Joseph’s Out of School Hours Care/Vacation Care, which was established in 1994.

Children are welcomed on a casual or permanent basis, from pre-school to year 6. Our educators are committed to ensuring your child is cared for in a welcoming and stimulating environment.

This handbook has been written as a resource to guide you through your child’s educational journey.

The St. Joseph’s OSHC service is licensed and approved for 70 places, from pre-school to year 6. We comply with the National Quality Standards and the My Time Our Place Framework V2.

St. Joseph’s OSHC follows clear and concise policies and procedures which you are welcomed to look at are kept in the OSHC office.

Location

We operate from the Sacred Heart Hall, and access is via Albemarle Street, through the locked gate alongside the pre-school. Once your child/ren have been enrolled, you will be issued with the code that gives you access.

National Quality Framework

The service is regulated by the National Quality Framework and underpinned by the National Quality Standard (NQS).

There are seven quality areas within the National Quality Standard (NQS):

  • Children’s health and safety
  • Physical environment
  • Staffing arrangements
  • Relationships with children
  • Collaborative partnerships with families and communities
  • Leadership and service management

The St. Joseph’s OSHC has an exceeding rating in all seven quality areas.
