Week 9 Bulletin
Dear families,
As the 2024 year draws to a close, I wish to share a few final messages and celebrations.
Last night, our Year 6 students graduated from St Joseph’s School. This was celebrated with a Mass at Sacred Heart Church, followed by dinner at Jarmer’s Kitchen. It was beautiful to mark the end of a journey in this way and the students did themselves proud with each presenting a heartfelt speech, showing and sharing just how our school has helped to form them as the wonderful young people that they are. In my words to them as they presented for graduation –
You are ready for the journey ahead. You have the tools, the wisdom, and the faith to make a difference in the world. Wherever you go, carry the spirit of "In All Things Love" with you. Be peacemakers. Be compassionate. Be courageous. Be kind.
On Monday, the students spent some time in their new class with their 2025 teacher/s. This was an important part of the transition process and I thank you for supporting this process with your encouragement of your children to ‘embrace new things and new opportunities’.
Below, for your information, is a full staff list for 2025.
Following our return to school in the new year, families are invited to our annual AGM and Meet the Teacher Evening which is scheduled for Monday 10 February starting at 6pm. Please save the date in your diary. The AGM, where myself, the School Board Chairperson and the P and F Chairperson will share brief reports, is the final meeting of our 2024 School Board. I wish to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing Chairperson, Craig Costello for an outstanding 6 years as a School Board member. I also wish to thank Laura Vrbanac and Romina Cirillo for contributions over their 2-year term. Laura Morris, who completes her term this year, has been renominated and will continue as a valued School Board Member. I also wish to welcome Ben Thompson, Dimitria Stavropoulos and Catherine Tiani who will join the 2025 School Board.
On this last day of the school term, I wish all our families a very blessed Christmas and a safe and joyful holiday break. I am very much looking forward to our 2025 school year and continuing to work in partnership with you, our families.
At St Joseph’s Hindmarsh, learning is co-constructed and dynamic. Learners are encouraged to IMAGINE, DISCOVER and CREATE and to make meaningful connections with their world.
As capable learners they are given opportunities to develop capabilities that build their confidence and skills to engage with the curriculum and ACHIEVE excellence.
